Neuromodulator treatments are the gold standard for treating various types of wrinkles in the face. Botox Cosmetic® (Onabotulinum Toxin A) and Dysport® (Abobotulinum Toxin A) are injectable medications comprised of the neurotoxin Botulinum-A, which works to relax facial muscles that contribute to dynamic and static lines on the face. Both products are Health Canada and FDA approved, and safe to administer into facial muscles. Results are not permanent, which means patients can return for routine treatments every 3-4 months on average to maintain their results.

Types of Fillers
Restylane Skinboosters®
A versatile product that has a special place in our Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler portfolio is Restylane Skinboosters®. Skinboosters Vital and Vital Lite are treatment products dedicated to targeting skin integrity, stimulating collagen and elastin, and softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Skinboosters can be used more superficially to improve skin quality, and can also be used as a dermal filler to treat the under eyes, hands, and lower face.
Results can last upwards of 6 months and may require a series of initial treatments depending on the specific outcome you are pursuing. Skinboosters are an innovative way to achieve natural-looking results without adding robust volume to the face.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a dermal filler that is a biostimulant in cosmetic injectables. Developed by Merz, the pharmaceutical company that produces Belotero® fillers, Radiesse® is a calcium-based product that can be injected in various different ways to add lift and structure to the face while stimulating collagen production.
Our advanced injectors have been provided thorough hands-on training on Radiesse® and the areas that benefit most from its technology. Radiesse® can last up to 12 months and in some cases up to 24 months. It is optimal for cheek, chin, and jawline enhancement to increase definition and structure. A notable advantage of Radiesse® is that it does not draw water, which can lead to a swollen or puffy appearance. Radiesse® can also be diluted to treat creping skin of the neck, chest, and hands by stimulating collagen which improves the signs of aging.

Ada is a passionate and highly skilled Aesthetic Injections Specialist. She has worked alongside some of the most respected plastic surgeons in the industry and enjoys training other nurses and physicians on the art and science of cosmetic injections. Ada strives to provide her patients with natural, realistic results and creates treatment plans designed specifically to match their desires.
Rather than using a “cookie-cutter approach”, she incorporates each patient’s preferences, lifestyle, and aesthetic vision to deliver beautifully unique outcomes. In the aesthetics sphere, Ada understands the importance of global facial analysis to ensure results are as proportionate and naturally rejuvenated as possible. Ada believes that each area of the face is intricately connected to each other, and should not always be treated in isolation.
In addition to working in Medical Aesthetics, Ada is also a Nurse Practitioner at McMaster Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she attends high-risk deliveries and manages critically ill infants. Ada also celebrates a passion for reproductive and sexual health through hormonal therapy, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), and aesthetic technological advancements.

During your complimentary consultation, our injectors will listen to your goals and provide you with an expert recommendation that will help you look and feel your absolute best – without looking overdone, ducky, or frozen. Our injectors are passionate about using a less-is-more approach with cosmetic injectables; with the latest techniques in the industry, small amounts of product go a long way.
Preparing For Your Injectable Treatment
During your complimentary consultation, your injector will thoroughly guide you through the pre and post-care to ensure you are properly prepared for your upcoming injectable treatment. Below are the recommendations you should follow pre and post-treatment.
- Prepare
- Avoid consuming alcohol 24-48 hours before your injectable treatment to prevent additional bruising or swelling.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Naproxen) and other NSAIDS for a period of two weeks before treatment.
- Schedule any dental procedures two weeks prior and two weeks post your injectable treatment.
- We recommend scheduling your injectable treatment two weeks prior to any life events such as weddings, celebrations, or vacations to ensure all bruising and swelling has subsided.
- Eat a well-balanced meal before your treatment to prevent feeling light-headed during your injectable appointment.
- If you have a history of cold sores, notify us as we may prescribe you an antiviral medication for you to take depending on the area being treated.
- Notify us if you have been prescribed any medications 24-48 hours prior to your appointment, or if you are encountering a UTI, rash, cold sore, or symptoms of the cold or flu.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you are required to cancel your appointment.
Injectables Treatment Post-Care
- Botox and Dysport Post-Care
- Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated areas for a minimum of four hours after injection.
- Keep your head upright and body inclined for four hours post-treatment.
- Refrain from undergoing skin treatments such as laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, or IPL post Botox®/Dysport® injections at least 7-10 days. Ask your technician if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that may cause sweating for 24 hours.
- If you are experiencing discomfort, you may ice the treated area or take Tylenol.
- Avoid the sun for 24-72 hours.
- Dermal Filler Post-Care
- Refrain from touching or massaging the treated area for 24 hours, unless directed by your injector.
- Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours.
- Avoid the sun for 24-72 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid the consumption of alcohol and blood thinners for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce bruising and swelling.
- Try to sleep face up and elevated if you are experiencing swelling.
- If you are experiencing swelling, apply an ice pack to the affected areas 3 times a day, for 20 minutes each session. You may also take oral Arnica or apply a topical Arnica gel and take Tylenol.66

What are the warning signs of a dermal-filler emergency?
Contact the injector immediately for severe or increasing pain, blanching or unusual pale skin, a dusky or mottled colour, cool skin, rapidly worsening swelling or other signs of reduced blood flow. Sudden vision changes, loss of vision, weakness, difficulty speaking, severe headache or stroke-like symptoms require emergency care. Call 911 when appropriate and tell the emergency team that dermal filler was recently injected.
Can dermal filler be dissolved or reversed?
Some hyaluronic-acid fillers may be treated with hyaluronidase, but dissolution is a separate medical procedure with its own risks and may require more than one session. It may not restore the exact pretreatment appearance. Non-hyaluronic-acid products, including calcium-hydroxylapatite fillers such as Radiesse, cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Can Botox® or Dysport® be reversed?
Botox and Dysport effects cannot be immediately reversed. Their effects generally diminish gradually, but duration varies by product, dose, injection site and patient. Contact the treating clinician about unexpected weakness, eyelid or brow drooping, asymmetry or other concerning effects; difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing requires urgent medical attention.
Can I have Botox® and dermal filler during the same appointment?
Selected patients may receive both treatments at one appointment, but same-day treatment is not automatically appropriate. The clinician should assess each proposed treatment separately, explain the combined procedure and risks and obtain informed consent. Staging treatment may be recommended when it supports safer assessment or more predictable planning.
Can I receive cosmetic injectables while pregnant or breastfeeding?
HealthOne’s page states that patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive Botox, Dysport or dermal-filler treatment at the clinic.
