HealthOne states that its dental clinics are accepting new patients. A referral is generally not required for a routine dental examination, cleaning or consultation. Some specialist services may require additional records or a referral. Choose your preferred location when booking and ask the team what information to bring.

HealthOne offers examinations, hygiene cleanings, fillings, crowns, mouthguards, wisdom-tooth assessments, emergency dental care, root-canal treatment, periodontal care, Invisalign, clear aligners, teeth whitening, implants, bridges and dentures. Treatment availability and suitability depend on the clinic, dentist and individual assessment.

Your first appointment may include a review of your dental and medical history, current medications, concerns and previous dental records, followed by an oral examination. The dentist will decide whether radiographs or other tests are clinically necessary and discuss findings, treatment options, risks, alternatives, timing and estimated costs before treatment proceeds.

HealthOne advertises dental care for children, adults and families. When booking for a child, confirm that the selected clinic and dentist provide care for the child’s age and needs. A referral to a pediatric dental specialist may be recommended when a child requires treatment beyond the clinic’s available services or expertise.

HealthOne offers emergency dental appointments for concerns such as severe tooth pain, dental injury, a broken or knocked-out tooth, swelling or a lost restoration. Same-day care may be available, but it is not guaranteed and depends on the location, clinical urgency and dentist availability. Call the clinic before travelling. Call 911 for difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, major facial trauma or another life-threatening emergency.

HealthOne states that it offers direct billing with most insurance providers. Coverage, deductibles, annual limits and insurer decisions vary by plan, and direct billing does not guarantee that the insurer will pay the entire fee. Ask the clinic for a treatment estimate or predetermination when appropriate and confirm your benefits directly with your insurer.

HealthOne states that it accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Confirm participation with the specific location before treatment and bring your CDCP information. The CDCP pays according to its established fees and coverage rules; a co-payment, additional charge or non-covered service may remain the patient’s responsibility. Ask for the expected out-of-pocket amount before agreeing to treatment.

Routine dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, dentures, orthodontics and cosmetic dental services are generally not covered by OHIP. OHIP covers only limited medically necessary dental surgery performed in qualifying hospital settings. Some patients may qualify for the CDCP or an Ontario public dental program.

Yes. With your authorization, copies of relevant dental records and recent radiographs can be requested from your previous dental office. Receiving existing images does not guarantee that new radiographs will be unnecessary; the HealthOne dentist will decide what is clinically required after reviewing their quality, date, your history and examination findings.
